Biography

was born the oldest of three children, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from St. Louis Park High School and attended the University of Minnesota, majoring in Journalism. During that time Shari met Paul Cohen, a Wisconsin law student. A few years later they married and moved to Southern California to pursue their careers.
Paul used his legal background to open up a Private Investigation Agency, working with law enforcement and doing trial preparation. Shari began working for Textron Systems, as part of the Space Shuttle Program Team. In 1978 their son Barry was born, followed by twins Adam and Stephanie in 1980.
During this time for fun, Shari began writing stories for her children. She wrote tall tales, fables and humorous poetry. With three toddlers, she had the perfect audience for feedback on her work.
Her hobby soon took off into a full time career. She wrote poetry, self-help, career and science/activity books that were published in the 1980's and 1990's for children and young adults.
In the late 1990's Shari began writing for several national magazines, specializing in human interest stories. Her articles appear in Family Circle Magazine, Womans World Magazine and Womans Day.
Family dramas with happy endings are her specialty.
In 2000 after moving near the shore along the Pacific Coast of Malibu, She was inspired to write the book Rhythm of the Sea. It was published by Beach House Books in 2001. Rhythm of the Sea is a collection of short stories dealing with human relationships. The stories all take place near the world waters.
